Spring. Everyone’s outside, drinking overpriced iced coffees, touching grass like it’s a personality trait. You? You’re sitting there wondering why you still feel like a raccoon in a dumpster fire.
Yes true enough though sometimes your inner self does seem to care about the weather.
I defo feel some sort of (probably mild in comparison to others) SAD syndrome in January (here in uk). Days are short / generally dull & often wet. Not great for motivation.
Though February arrived and suddenly the days is a little longer / lighter and things feel better. 😃
Interesting pov you being Jake... I can imagine that for some it may feel pressured to "blossom" 🌼 but it comes naturally to us - it can be a quiet unfolding as you say
''Touching grass like it’s a personality trait”—Hilarious, I’m obsessed! 😂 Stealing that one for sure. You nailed that oddly specific, slightly performative energy everyone gets when the seasons turn. It’s like everyone suddenly remembers nature exists and wants credit for it! But to be honest...I am a bit guilty of that too... Thank you for reminding us that we can take our time to heal, no matter the temperature outside!
"Blooming doesn’t have to be loud. Sometimes, it’s just the quiet decision to stay."
Super powerful, Jake. Thank you for this reminder!

I definitely am guilty! But I also LOVE sharing the world around us. A hard line to walk 😂
Let’s normalize living up to our own expectations and not anybody else’s—especially the faux reality of social media.
Great read.
Glad it resonated with ya!
